A legendary annual event at Seattle Center featuring hundreds of great musicians from the greater Northwest. Here's what we'll be doing at Folklife:
Friday, May 28th: Friday, June 11th WB & Bonnie play at the Bookworm Exchange as part of the Columbia City Beatwalk. Songs and tunes from Appalacia, Mississippi, Mexico, and more, with fiddle, banjo, and guitar. $7 gets you into eight venues with great music from 7-11 pm. 4860 Rainier Avenue S. Monday, June 14th Bill Martin from Portland calls and WB fiddles for the Tallboys for the twice monthly (2nd and 4th) Tractor Tavern Square Dance, 8 pm, $5, 21+ Thursday, June 17th Caller TBD...WB fiddles for the Tallboys for an Urban Square Dance at the Century Ballroom, 915 E Pine St, Second Floor, 8:30 - 11:00 pm, $7 Monday, June 28th Fred Park from Asheville, NC calls and WB fiddles for the Tallboys for the twice monthly (2nd and 4th) Tractor Tavern Square Dance, 8 pm, $5, 21+ Friday, July 2nd WB fiddles with Tallboys for Seattle International Beerfest at the Mural Ampitheatre at Seattle center. Lots of music all day with the Tallboys set 3:15 to 4:30 pm. July 3rd to 10th WB & Bonnie are on the general musical support staff at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes at beautiful Fort Worden State Park. They'll be filling in as needed in many capacities. Monday, July 12th Brian DeMarcus from Alaska calls and WB fiddles for the Tallboys for the twice monthly (2nd and 4th) Tractor Tavern Square Dance, 8 pm, $5, 21+ July 30 to August 7th WB & Bonnie are on the staff of Lark in the Morning music camp in Mendocino, California. Thursday, July 19th Jokers Wild (Deb Kirkland, Dave Bartley, WB Reid) play for an evening of waltzes, swing, and more as part of the Dancing til Dusk series held in Freeway Park, downtown Seattle. 7-9 pm with a dance lesson from 6-7 pm. Free!! Friday, August 20th Jokers Wild (WB Reid, Dave Bartley, Deb Kirkland) play at the Emerald City Contra Dance at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, Lower Brick Building, 6532 Phinney N. in Seattle. 7:30 to 10 pm with a beginners' workshop at 7:00. $8 ($7 for SFS and PNA members, $5 for students, under 16-free.
