2008 Friday, June 6th WB & Bonnie play at the Bookworm Exchange as part of the Columbia City Beatwalk. Songs and tunes from Appalacia, Mississippi, Mexico, and more, with fiddle, banjo, and guitar. $5 gets you into eight venues with great music from 7-11 pm. 4860 Rainier Avenue S. See also www.columbiacitybeatwalk.org Monday, June 9th Bonnie will teach a tune as the guest fiddler for the Tune-A-Week program run by Fiddle Bits Academy. At Hammond Ashley Violins, 320 Third Ave NE, Issaquah, WA 98027, 425.392.3963. Tune learning session is 6:45 to 8:00 pm, followed by an open jam session with the instructors and students. $20 per person. Wednesday, June 11th WB & Bonnie play at the Columbia City Farmers' Market, 4801 Rainier Ave South (at South Edmunds), 4 to 6 pm. Friday, June 13th The Rhythm Rollers Cathie Whitesides--fiddle, Laurie Andres--accordion, WB Reid--guitar) play for Waltz Night at Sonny Newman's Dance Hall, 201 N. 85th St. in Greenwood (Seattle). June 29th to July 6th WB & Bonnie are accompanying Lee Stripling on the faculty at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes at beautiful Fort Worden State Park. They'll be leading workshops, band labs, and performing in at least two concerts and a dance. Sunday, July 20th WB & Bonnie play for the 3rd Sunday contra dance in Santa Cruz, California, with Lynn Ackerson calling. 7 to 10 pm at the Veterans' Memorial Building, 846 Front St, Santa Cruz. Thursday, August 24th WB joins in with The Todalo Shakers in a house concert at Daniel Steinberg's house in Mountain View, California. Reservations required, contact Daniel Friday, July 25th WB & Bonnie are joined with our pal, Kathrine Gardiner from Half Moon Bay to play for the San Francisco Contra Dance at St. Paul's Church, 43rd Avenue at Judah Street. Charlie Fenton is our esteemed caller. 8 pm with a free dance lesson at 7:30. August 1-9 WB & Bonnie are on the staff of Lark in the Morning music camp in Mendocino, California. Saturday, August 23rd WB teaches two beginning old-time claw-hammer banjo workshops at Dusty Strings Music Shop on the corner of N 34th Street and Fremont Avenue N in downtown Freemont. $35 for each workshop or $60 for both.
